10-day workshop on String art organized at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala
The Post-graduate Department of Fashion Technology, Multani Mal Modi College Patiala organized a ten days workshop on from 11 September to 20th September on String art. The main objective of this workshop was to equip the student with the techniques and skill of ‘ pin and thread art’
College principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar inaugurated the workshop and said that interestingly the order and symmetry are the basis of string art’s appeal. Elaborate designs can be created with geometric shapes, points and coloured strings. Dr. Veenu Jain told that more than 20 students are participating in this workshop which is fundamentally thread art which is quite popular in fashion world.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Amanjot Kaur and Prof. Rubina the students.

ਪੋਸਟ–ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਆਫ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ 11 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਤੋਂ 20 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਟ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਆਰਟ ‘ਤੇ ਦਸ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪਿੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਗਾ ਕਲਾ‘ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਸਿਖਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇ ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਤਰਤੀਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੂਪਤਾ ਸਟ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਆਰਟ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਹੈ। ਜਿਓਮੈਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਆਕਾਰਾਂ, ਬਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗਦਾਰ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਇਨਿੰਗ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ: ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਪਾਪੂਲਰ ਰਹੇ ‘ਪਿੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਗਾ ਕਲਾ‘ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਸਮੇਂ–ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕੋਰਸ ਖਤਮ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ।
